What a week! We had our busiest MRI Maakers night yet in some ways, with our first ever tourists dropping in, all the way from the USA. It’s quite fitting really with so much support pouring in online from across the pond, not least the Minnesota Knitter’s Guild organising the Harriet’s Hat Knit Along (Cast on next week! – So if you’ve not got your pattern yet, you can download it here.)
However, as the saying goes, charity begins at home, and we’ve had a bumper donation from Joan and Yvonne of the Bonnie Isle (Whalsay). We were trying to get a picture of it all but, it’s too much for one snap so, we’ve split it into smaller and bigger items.
There’s bonnets, slippers/smucks (ladies sizes), headbands and hats, in various sizes and colours. Joan is having a hip operation shortly and says she’s happy to knit more for something to do while she’s recovering. So we’ve decided to create a separate category in the online store, Joan’s Knits, to sell her generous contributions, all proceeds to the scanner appeal.
Also in the box from the Bonnie Isle were these 2 Fair Isle Jumpers, and 3 children’s hooded cardigans. They’ll be going in the same section of the store shortly too so if you’re interested keep an eye out for them, we’re sure they’ll be snapped up quick.
We’re so grateful for all the support we’ve had in our efforts to raise funds for the scanner. Near and far alike, the knitting community has really shown it’s true colours! Thank you all.
